Overview

 

Construction

Entirely built by Cape Dory Yachts, Inc. in Taunton, Massachusetts in 1988. The semi-displacement 1-piece hull and deck/cabin assembly are fiberglass. 11" side decks, white PVC guard rails with stainless steel half oval. The molded-in skeg adds protection to the rudder and propeller. Interior woodwork is primarily varnished teak, recently refinished the winter of 2022-23. Exterior woodwork is teak finished with Cetol. The engine access is under the wheelhouse sole. The teak swim platform with stainless steel ladder is off the transom. White topsides, navy boot stripe, red bottom.


Engine

2012 Yanmar diesel, 250 HP.  Model 6LPAM-DTP, Serial No. M31550. Fresh water cooled via heat exchanger, ZF transmission. 1 1/2" stainless steel shaft swinging an 18"x18"x3-blade bronze propeller. 600 engine hours.

Electrical

Four batteries (one starter, three house & refrigerator for cruising), Master Switch 1-2-Both, DC panel on helm console and AC panel in cabin. Shore power and cord, 12v outlets. Navigational lights, spot light, cabin and wheelhouse lights.


Accommodations

In the forward cabin, aft of the anchor locker, two vee berths with a filler piece to make one double berth. Shelves outboard and large lockers below. Three opening ports and a cabintop hatch offer good natural light and ventilation, along with reading lights port and starboard. The cabin heater vent is under the port berth.

Next aft to port is a hanging locker, followed by a large enclosed head with a stainless steel sink with hot & cold pressure water, a hand-held shower, marine manual toilet with Y-valve, and an opening port.

On the starboard side is the galley with a 2-burner Origo electric (and alcohol) 4500 stove, an under the counter refrigerator, storage, and a stainless steel sink with hot & cold pressure water. Storage is outboard and drawers and locker are below the counter.

White bulkheads and ceiling, teak trim and woodwork and a teak & holly sole make an  attractive cabin with 6' headroom.

Up the companionway steps to the wheelhouse with the lower helm to starboard. The electrical panel is integrated into the front of the steering bulkhead with the engine gauges on the dash along with the compass and engine controls. The electronics are overhead.

The 3-window windshield has an opening center window and electric wipers on the port and starboard windows. Sliding side and aft windows offer excellent visibility and ventilation. There is a pedestal helm chair and an L-shaped settee on the port side that converts to a double berth.  The pedestal teak and Formica dining table is mounted off-center to port. Teak & holly sole, Soundown-lined interior ceiling, 6'2" headroom.

Through the starboard aft door is the 7'L x 8'3" W cockpit. The fiberglass sole has two hatches.  Bronze deck hardware.  Hand rails are mounted on top of the wheelhouse and cabin, port and starboard. Radar dome, antenna, horn, and spot light are on the  wheelhouse. A teak swim platform with stainless steel swim ladder is mounted on the transom. On the foredeck are stainless steel chocks and cleats, port and starboard, a stainless steel bowrail, and a large anchor locker.

The stainless steel and teak-tread ladder to the flybridge is mounted on the port side of the cockpit. The flybridge layout is a center helm with a cushioned bench for seating three. Full engine gauges, compass and radio are mounted on the clean dash with windshield. A full flybridge enclosure with stainless steel supports and blue canvas and a flybridge cover are included.
