The company was founded in 1960 by Richard Bertram, and it quickly gained recognition for its high-quality sportfishing yachts. One of the most iconic models from Bertram Yachts is the Bertram 31, introduced in 1961. This model achieved legendary status and became known as the “Moppie,” named after the first boat of this design that won the Miami-Nassau powerboat race. The company introduced larger models, such as the Bertram 60 and 80, which catered to customers looking for luxury yachts with sportfishing capabilities. Now owned by the Gavio Group Bertram Yachts has reemerged as a leader in the smaller classic styles as well as the mid sized sport fish range. Building yachts in Tampa, Florida and as well in their sister shipyard in Italy.
