Overview

Accommodations

Standard Grand Banks 36 interior with the preferred island queen aft and with beautiful joinery and finish on full teak including teak parquet soles throughout. The original owner had a number of custom book racks and cabinets built into the boat providing more storage than virtually any other GB 36. There are numerous opening ports and windows providing an abundance of natural light and ventilation while properly placed reading and dome lights provide excellent artificial light throughout. Reverse Cycle Air conditioning (provides both heating and cooling) will provide ample warmth to all cabins on season extending cruises or cool the interior on the hottest of days. A Sony CDX-F50M AM/FM/Stereo CD receiver with CD changer/Controller/MP3 player was installed in 2007 and plays music to dual speakers in the Salon, Aft Cabin, and Flying Bridge.

Starting forward is the Forward Stateroom featuring a large V-berth with bin type stowage below and the typical teak hull ceiling over. There are 2 drawers and 2 lockers below the V-berth as well. Just aft of the port berth is the large hanging locker and opposite to starboard is the Guest Head featuring Groco electric W.C., ensuite shower, vanity and sink with H&C pressure water. There is good counter space and stowage. Up three steps is the Main Salon, Lower Helm Station, and Galley. The Galley is opposite to port (see galley), aft of this area is the Main Salon featuring an L settee to starboard with stowage under and a fixed drop leaf teak dining table with bottle and magazine stowage below. Just forward of the L-settee is the cabinet housing the U-line ice maker (new '02) and glass and bottle storage further forward is the starboard access door. Opposite to port and just aft of the galley is a port side door, short bench settee, with stowage in a drop face locker under. Hull & Deck

Solid fiberglass hull with molded in plank lines and stainless capped rub strake with original white gel coat in exc. condition, with blue boot top. The bottom of the yacht is painted with a hard epoxy anti fouling in blue.  A nice plus to this Grand Banks 36 is that the bottom was peeled in 2001 and laid back with 2 new layers of fiberglass in vinylester resin.

The house and decks are partially cored and the decks have a teak overlay in very good condition showing only minor wear. Teak cap rails, stainless stanchions and teak safety rails and other assorted teak trim is also in super condition; the brightwork is in excellent condition.

For those not familiar with Grand Banks; they have wonderful side decks with bulwarks and safety giving them a very "shippy" look and feel while also providing more timid yachtsmen a tremendous sense of security.
